I qualified as a Dramatherapist in 2009 and as an Association for Family Therapy Systemic Practitioner Member Intermediate Level in 2016 - but I haven't always worked in this area.
My first career was in Theatre in Edcuation and I co-founded and ran Bright Spark Theatre in Education Company in Brighton for 6 years before moving into charity fundraising and management.
During my Dramatherapy training I worked on placement in a secondary school and in the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service. Since qualifying I have had 4 years' experience working in the NHS in the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), 7 years at The University of Derby as a Specialist Mentor (previously Mental Health Support Worker) within the Student Wellbeing service - and as a private practitioner.
I have experience of working with adults, children and young people on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
Outside of work I am a very keen hand-knitter and a slightly less keen gardener! I also enjoy yoga and singing with both a Community Choir and a small group of women who dream of being in Pitch Perfect 3 (update: it didn't happen)!
